Jinja Safari - “Hiccups”

This Aussie “band of brothers” really know what to do to get you thinking of all things enchanted, fantastical and wonderful! A jolt of afro pop and jolly indie pop melodies that will keep you wanting MORE. This song and music video just makes me smile, it reminds me of the vibrancy of life & the joy of mixing both music and color! :)

Trust me when I say, you’ll be seeing tons more from them in the future.

Keane - “Disconnected”

Keane is planning on showing us what they can REALLY do, with their new album Strangeland! I have to say, being a huge Keane fan, this album has been such a great way for them to say, “Hey! We have not lost our touch!” and Blows US out of the water with such soaring vocals, larger than life tunes that in Keane fashion, evokes a boat load of emotion! Tom Chaplin’s signature smooth vocals haunts and uplifts this album, along with memorable lyrics and churning melodies. I can safely say, KEANE is back in the building and planning on sentimental “world domination”.

Disconnected is one of my favorites off their latest installation, “Strangeland” and for one thing, this music video is frighteningly amazing! One of their most creative, unique works ever in my opinion. :) Keane fans will not be disappointed - “Hopes & Fears” is not their only great piece of work. This Is one for the books.

Penguin Prison - “Don’t Fuck with my Money”

This band has me craving for more!!! Finally great pop music with synths and a freaking awesome beat! Sounding hella 80s but delivering what we all needed, a boost of pure fun! I suggest you blast the stereos loud with this tune, cause you’ll be dancing! ;)

and they are also going to be ON TOUR with Neon Trees and Twenty One Pilots this Summer 2012!! put together by NYLON Magazine’s Summer Music Tour. So, ENJOY!

Patrick Watson - “Adventures in your own backyard” (live at SXSW 2012)

Mr. Watson once again gives us his hauntingly beautiful take on folk music. His tender soothing voice, almost eery yet comforting. Back with a new album, he proves he can pull on those heartstrings, with harmonies, gorgeous poetic lyrics and wounded innocence.

Alex Winston - “Locomotive”

One of my personal fav Take Away Show videos!! European scenery and architecture, set to some beautiful harmonies and music. Alex Winston is truly a free spirit and a passionate individual, with a unique tone that brings her songs to life! I can’t say more great things about her debut album, “KING CON”. It’s definitely one of a kind.

Lucius - “Go Home”

Saw this band last night open for Freelance Whales!! They were fantastic!!! so impressed by their harmonies and energy on stage! the two female vocalists were very badass and had powerful vocals! I would say this band is a mix Tegan & Sara, Sleigh bells and First aid kit. They’ll be a huge name someday soon! trust me. ;)

Freelance Whales - “Enzymes”

Because they are just freaking awesome live!! and I am so amazed by all their individual talents and the ability to capture dreams & magic within their songs! It was indeed a beautiful performance of the senses! I loved it when the audience sang along to each and every OoOo…and Ahhh…sound for sound, word for word. It was spectacular!

Temper Trap - “Trembling Hands”

This Aussie based indie/alternative band is back again with new material off their newest and much anticipated album, which is to be released tomorrow! They have definitely made a name for themselves these past 2 years - having their songs in every TV/Movie soundtrack, played in advertisements and more! Their appeal is universal and it certainly has a lot to do with their musical sensibilities, soaring/blood pumping melodies and heartfelt vocals. Taking influences from U2 (one of their fav bands) and making it their own. I expect a lot from this group and their new single “Trembling Hands” proves just what they have in store! :) Awesomeness.

Yeasayer - “O.N.E. (acoustic)”

“Love, you don’t move me anymore. I’m glad that you don’t. Cause I can’t have you anymore!”

One of the best songs from this Brooklyn band! The country-fried version of this pop/dance tune is actually really homegrown sounding. It makes me smile, thinking of their demos and how just original versions of later on produced songs just appears so vulnerable & raw. Saw them live last year and was blown away.

Feist - Broken Social Scene cover of “Lover’s Spit”

I just have so many memories and events tied to this song. It’s always been incredibly meaningful to me, and still remains deeply moving. Something about the tragically beautiful and romantic images that come with this tune. Evokes a lot from the heart, and truly one of my favorite Broken Social Scene songs, till this day. :) Absolutely love the Feist cover of Kevin Drew’s original vocals for this song.

“You know it’s time, that we grow old and do some shit”
